Visit the 2000 yr old Tule tree (30 min away)! Visit Teotitlan and see our textiles (15 min away)!

Altares a las Montañas

This traditional Oaxacan house, that has four beds, was handcrafted by local artisans in exquisite adobe walls, a shading porch, furnishings and decor. It nestles in gardens of trees and blooming succulents. Guests enjoy multiple level terraces, hammocks, an outside dining area, a 22-meter lap pool and spectacular mountain views. We are in a Zapotec town with nearby restaurants and have easy transportation to Oaxaca city (20 minutes). We offer tours to villages and archaeological sites.

You will be staying inside an incredible Garden built over 30 years ago inside the aqueduct that brought water to the city. The bungalows are hand carved Cantera stone emulating the aqueduct, a unique experience surrounded by the incredible garden.

Our house is a traditional hacienda-type house. The guest bedrooms have their only entries through the outside patio. The private heated pool awaits for a relaxing swim after a full day exploring ruins or touring the nearby pueblos! Lachigolo is a small and peaceful pueblo, about a 15-minute drive from Oaxaca along the Pan American Highway, and around 5 minutes past El Tule. The location makes it a good base for day trips to places like Hierve al Agua, Teotitlan, and Mitla.

Explore the countryside and surrounding landscape on horseback riding or hiking. You'll stay in our new Airbnb dedicated house in the family compound. There is a porch where we have looms for weaving. Join us for the numerous festivals and authentic traditions all year round in our village!
