Tui Bush Cabin

Take a short drive (approx 3kms) up the valley from Ngunguru to Tui Bush Cabin. This is where you can relax amongst the native bush, and listen to the tui's chatter from dawn till dusk. Our beautiful small wooden cabin comprises of a fitted kitchen with a 4 burner gas hob, convection microwave, toaster, jug, refrigerator and sink. A drop leaf table and chair. A double bed with sheets and duvet. Separate bathroom with flush toilet, basin and shower. Outside decking with table and chairs.

Maybe you fancy a walk around the Town Basin loop. Beautiful native bush walks up Parihaka from where you can enjoy sweeping views over the city and Whangarei Harbour or along the Hatea River, are on your door step. For a bigger work out you can keep going, via A.H. Reed park, right up to the Whangarei falls.

Moonrise was inspired by the movies of Wes Anderson. You will find it down a private country road in a garden filled with many birds who visit from the bush and nearby wetlands. At night the sky is full of stars. We have carefully crafted the cabins to provide a quirky off grid life and a tranquil experience where you can recharge in nature, read or play boardgames. The beach, along with shops and cafes are a 7 minute drive away and bush walks are just up the road.
