Treehouses at Candlelight Forest/Sophie's Roost

Sophie's Roost is one of two treehouses for rent in the Candlelight Forest, a Simpler Times resort 18 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Sophie's Roost sleeps 6 and has a deck featuring our signature Canopy Kitchette for a unique outdoor grilling experience. The treehouse is professionally decorated by Sophie's of Chattanooga. The Candlelight Forest is central to all the famous Chattanooga attractions, in addition to offering fishing and canoeing on our own Lake Angela. Perched in a beautiful tree canopy, Sophie's Roost is built upon a sloping ridge which provides for very safe and easy access, as the entrance is at ground level. Tamara Dillard, the owner of Sophie's, a home decor shop located in the North Shore district of Chattanooga, professionally decorated Sophie's Roost, hence its name. Upon arrival, a short stroll through the woods (and after dark, under near-magical hanging moon lights) brings you to the front door of your home away from home. A queen bed nook with privacy curtain, an open living area, a full bath, a back porch, and many thoughtful nooks and crannies adorned with decorator surprises provide the downstairs living experience. Up a two-tiered loft ladder, 4 twin beds and a cute half bath await the more adventurous up above. Our own signature Canopy Kitchenette (TM) rounds out the experience. The back porch has a very simple kitchen that includes a stainless wash sink, concrete countertop, toaster, and a gas grill with side burner, all elegantly covered in the shade of an oversized umbrella. Dine upon the custom built-in fold-down table and antique wooden chairs. Sophie's Roost combines the greatest of all vacation experiences - cooking outdoors with shelter to boot, cozy spaces for family fun and romance, and a home base for all the excitement that awaits in this enchanting mountain and valley world only minutes from vibrant Chattanooga. The Candlelight Forest Resort, of which the treehouse is part, is comprised of 200 acres of preserve that includes two small mountain lakes for catch and release fishing, hiking trails, and a park with badminton, corn hole, a fire pit, and a historic marquee tent with family games. The Plucky Peacock is a new farm stand and country store from which our friendly Director of Recreation works to assist you in taking advantage of all our amenities. Television celebrity host Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters also built a lovely recreational treehouse inside Candlelight Forest about 10 years ago, before he was famous! Guests have full access to their private Treehouse and all of Candlelight Forest, close to 200 acres of preserve including two small mountain lakes, a creek and many trails and amenities. We believe we have carved out a unique niche in the getaway/resort venue industry. We have a devoted team that wants to ensure you have an amazing time at Candlelight Forest, recreating and relaxing yourselves in a world that hearkens back to a simpler time. Our amenities are designed to bring families and loved ones into the great outdoors and closer to each other for the very best of memories. It has been awarded the #1 outdoor city in the US and has a large Farm-to-Table focus throughout its many fabulous restaurants. We have a great backdoor into downtown, with no traffic, through our quiet Chattanooga Valley. These accommodations are perfectly located to take in Chattanooga and the many surrounding attractions that abound nearby, including Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and The Chickamauga National Battlefield Park, all about 20 minutes away. Our staff is very eager to help you with ideas outside the gate including great eateries in Chattanooga as well as in the Valley and along Lookout Mountain. We have three other accommodations in the event you want to plan a getaway with friends or a family reunion. We welcome big groups and can help plan some special activities.

Sunset House - Family & Fishermen's Paradise

Bring the family for fishing, fun and relaxation while enjoying our cozy 3 bedroom/2 bath home across the street from beautiful Lake Guntersville! Perfect central location, sleeps 8 comfortably, easy in/out level parking for 3 trucks w/ boats; outside electric plugs and LESS THAN 1 block from our largest public boat ramp. Across the street is our 7 mile park bordering the lake with walking/bicycle trails, playground, picnic areas, basketball, 2 miles from Superior Courts & historic downtown.

Evelyn's Cottage

Make yourself at home at Pickled Brick Farms in this peaceful cottage in the country. Access to 3 ponds (2 with fish), with lots of room to wander and relax in this secluded space. You will hear the sounds of birds, frogs and cicadas, as well as the distant bleating of goats and sheep and clucking chickens. Watch hawks circle overhead and the Great Blue Heron fish in the pond out front. There is a small fenced yard and well-behaved dogs are welcomed! Both hosts live on this 120 acre property.

Deep water Lake House

This is a small lake house with deep water access on spring creek at Lake Weiss. We have a 2 level boat dock and private boat ramp for small boats . The upper deck is great for sunning or enjoying the views and below is great for parking ur boat, fishing and swimming. We have a kamado Joe grill for smoking, roasting or grilling and a gas grill for convenience. Great screened in porch for times the bugs are out. Our house us pet friendly as well. Great vacation spot for time on the lake!!

Book your peaceful getaway in our newly renovated 5 bedroom waterfront house on Guntersville Lake. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, it's perfect for family gatherings, with a beautiful kitchen open to a large dining area and cozy living room complete with gas fireplace. Nellie’s Lake Retreat

Remodeled home on Lake Allatoona - only land between our home and the lake is property owned by the Army Corp of Engineers. You can walk down to the lake and enjoy the sights and sounds. Speaking of sounds you will faintly hear train horns on occasion throughout the day and night (sound travels across the lake). The house is open and bright, it faces South so plenty of light even in winter. Enjoy sitting on the deck or in the covered patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Located off Little Nose Creek on Weiss Lake, we are truly center of anywhere you would like to be on the lake. Relax on the large covered deck, and enjoy the sunsets. It is a 3 Bedroom, 2 full bath setup. Master BR has a King bed, Guest BR has a Queen and Middle BR contains Full and a twin bed. Futon in LR. Enjoy the granite counters and latest appliances in the kitchen.

Lake life at its finest. Brand new 4 bedroom 2 bath lake house situated on 1.8 acres on the Scottsboro side of Lake Guntersville. Sleeps 10 in beds, community has a private boat launch & guests can access the boat house & sun deck. TV's in all the rooms, fiber internet, stand alone ice maker & all the amenities you need to enjoy the great outdoors! Quiet neighborhood. Please keep outside noise to a minimum. No large parties or gatherings are allowed.

The guest house is your lake cottage home away from home. The house is directly on the water with access to dock your boat outside with ample bumpers at the boathouse on property. The location is right around the corner from City Park for loading and unloading and Goosepond Colony.
