The town square is outside your front door, and it is a short walk to the National Historical Park, restaurants, cafes, and shopping. A perfect blend of location and history, the cottage has many modern updates including queen size bed, pull out couch, fast WIFI, washer/dryer, smart tv, and a secure shed for bike storage. Ladder in the kitchen leads to locked storage area. Living space is all on the first floor.

Located just steps away from Dam #4 on the C&O Canal / Potomac River. (marker 84.6) Perfect for a getaway or romantic weekend. Hike/bike the C&O Canal, bring your kayak/canoe/bikes, fish or swim in the river. Sit on the porch and listen to the rumble of the water falling over the dam. Local lore is this was the home of a canal lock keeper or the gate house keeper. Secluded location away from town. NOT A PARTY HOUSE/owner on site in garage apartment. Inquire if a blocked day is available.

Relax, fish, explore, or visit nearby attractions in Shepherdstown, Sharpsburg, & Harper's Ferry. Two kayaks, a canoe, paddles, & lifejackets are available for your use. All water activities are at your own risk. WV DNR requires all boaters to have a lifejacket and all boats to have a whistle. Please bring your own whistle(s). MD or WV fishing license is fine.

This Cottage House is located near the Potomac River and is very close to Harpers Ferry, WV, Antietam National Battlefield, historic Sharpsburg, MD, the C&O canal and other local attractions. This cottage is an older structure with a rustic charm, includes a full kitchen with island seating, 1 full bath, 2 half baths, washer/dryer and sleeps 8 nicely. Pets are welcome. The well water is tested safe, but contains minor amounts of hydrogen sulfide which produces some odor (please see below).
