Springvale Farm Cottages: Wilde Als

Escape the city life for a weekend getaway. Springvale Farm offers endless opportunities to relax and explore the KZN Midlands. We like to think we have the best of both worlds - the benefits of farm life, yet with all the modern comforts and easy access to cafes, trails, walks, schools, markets and golf courses. Wilde Als is a beautiful spacious 2 bedroom cottage with an open plan living area and an indoor fireplace. It is set slightly away from the other cottages providing unrivalled privacy.

YELLOWWOODS FARM - The Sheep Shed (self catering)

We like to think that we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowwoods. The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycles trails, farmers markets, Boschhoek+Gowrie golf courses, Clifton Notties Prep school and Michaelhouse. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. We are a little farm, so expect a bit of ‘farm noise’ and general day-to-day goings on! The Sheep Shed has outside table/chairs and braai facilities. WiFi, DSTV+braai/fire basket

The MatopHouse – an idyllic Midlands escape

Solar-powered MatopHouse is a very carefully considered sanctuary. It's enveloped by a garden frequented by birds, hares, a mongoose and duikers, and has views of the distant Karkloof hills. The house is full of character (and books), and is a tranquil space in which to read, write, cook, create – and to simply "be". Set on a quiet eco-estate on the fringe of Howick, it is conveniently close to the Ambers, the Karkloof trails, the Midlands Meander, Midmar Dam, and numerous cafes and attractions.

The smallest of three units on the property, it is perfect for couples, or a small family looking for a beautiful Midlands break away. Family Country Cottage near Nottingham Road

Paddocks Cottage on Newstead Farm nestles in the rolling hills near Nottingham Road. Here you can find dams for boating and bass fishing, a tennis court and 25ha of indigenous forest! This rural smallholding farm with Nguni Cows and retired horses has a significant history from the 1840's and gives you the chance to experience the true peace and tranquillity of the countryside, but yet is very central to top restaurants, golf courses, wedding venues and schools. The farm runs on solar power.

Hilton Wetland Retreat

Located in Hilton Village, this spacious 2-bedroom cottage offers comfort with tranquil wetland views. The main bedroom has a king bed and dedicated workspace; the second features two sets of bunk beds. It boasts an open-plan lounge with a cozy fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and verandah with built-in braai. Free, unlimited wi-fi. Situated less than 10kms from Hilton College, it provides easy access to amenities. Astro cricket net adjacent to the cottage for young sports enthusiasts!

Romantic Rondawel on the forest's edge

This Bush Lodge styled cottage is only 3km away from Midmar Dam Resort and is geared for a relaxing stay. Privately positioned inside an enormous, well established Midlands Garden, it shares a boundary with River Goose Estate. The verandah overlooks sweeping lawns, with a braai area set under the African sky. The king bed is comfortable and the shower pressure is excellent. Guests have access to walks in the garden, the swings, an outdoor massage table and outdoor shower.

Woodsong Cottage - Self Catering

The cottage is situated in The Dargle Valley bordering a forestry estate and overlooks the uMngeni River. It is nestled in the trees next to the main house on Woodsong Farm, which is a small life-style farm where you are free to explore the surroundings. Enjoy walks to the small dam with a picnic basket and bird-watch, take photos, enjoy some casual fishing and wild-swimming. The cottage is not suitable from small children. The cottage is not pet friendly.

The Fox and Hound

The Fox and Hound is situated in the leafy village of Hilton, close to upmarket shops, restaurants, schools, The Hilton Life Hospital and the popular Midlands Meander. It has a cosy living area, with a wood burning fireplace, full Dstv channels, and a well appointed open plan kitchen. Two spacious bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two singles, and the option of mattresses on the living room floor for extra guests. Free WiFi is available.

The Snuggery Cottage - your snug Howick stay

Welcome to The Snuggery Cottage in the picturesque town of Howick, gateway to the KZN Midlands. Nestled in a 1940s property with solid brick walls and oodles of character, the Cottage is ideal for one or two people. Whether over-nighting, or staying longer, guests are welcome to unplug, visit our chickens and ducks, light the fireplace, play card games, read a book or head out and enjoy the sights and beauty on offer in the KZN Midlands.

eKuthuleni Glamping: Wooden cabin over the lake

Our wooden cabin over the lake offers a cozy and comfortable stay, with stunning views over the lake and the forests around the property. Enjoy the bird life of which there are a few species. You can enjoy the tranquility, or fish from the deck, or explore the nearby attractions. The cabin is self catering, semi off-grid equipped with a gas geyser supplying hot water to the shower, and we have an ensuite septic based toilet.
