The Thunderbird Tiny House

The Thunderbird tiny house is located on the Thunderbird Ranch about 13 miles west of Mountainair, New Mexico. We are surrounded by the Cibola National Forest on all four sides. The property is owned by the Wester's and has been in their family for almost a hundred years. We also have other vacation homes for rent so if you want to bring another family we can accommodate that. Located by the Cibola Forest & Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, it's a great place to take in the great outdoors. This little house is perfect & cheaper than local hotels. Complete with 2 bedrooms, a washer/dryer unit & newly re-modeled bathroom w/new toilet, sink & shower/tub! Older home, not ADA compliant. No wheelchair access.

Mountainair was known as the “Pinto Bean Capital of the World” in its heyday and our land was used for dry-land bean farming. Remnants of homesteaders can still be found on the property. We now enjoy this beautiful location to raise Scottish Highland Cattle and can’t wait to share it with you! Our cabin will fit 2 adults plus a child comfortably with a queen bed and twin sofa bed.
