Enjoy the charm and history of this 1910 former schoolhouse in a peaceful and serene setting. Wake up to sounds of birds as you enjoy your morning coffee on the porch swing or sit by the creek letting the stresses of life melt away. Our cottage in the woods sits on nearly 20 acres with about 2 acres landscaped lawn to enjoy. Located approximately .75 miles from the main road just outside of the quaint riverfront town of Alderson. The Greenbrier river provides many recreational opportunities.

New River Railhouse: Historic New River Gorge Home

Attention train lovers! Enjoy the elegance of Hinton’s past in our lovingly preserved 1916 brick home, across from the Hinton train station and steps from the historic downtown. Spend the day hiking in New River Gorge National Park, Bluestone Lake or Pipestem Resort State Parks - all within 20 minutes - and spend the evening listening to songs on our vintage jukebox. Relax on one of the three porches, listen to the river and watch the trains, while petting one of the friendly neighborhood cats!

Tiny Drifter

12x24 tiny house designed and (inside) built by me.. Dive into the history of this unique and memorable place. Always in my family this property has special touches with strong heritage. The house sits atop the old foundation of the house my grandfather built and my father was raised in. Fossils, artifacts, flora, and fauna abundant. Listen to the river and the passing trains from the outside or sleep like a baby inside. It’s insulated soundproof and holds the heat or cool well for your comfort.

Steps from the Greenbrier River, you'll have 200 feet of river frontage with a nice level rock beach to put your feet in the river and enjoy all the Greenbrier has to offer. Put in a kayak and float downstream and enjoy bass fishing, or fish directly from the shore or walk upstream 100 feet to a nice pool of still water to fish or swim! 24 miles to the state of WV fairgrounds and 34 miles to the Greenbrier!

At the Whistlestop Camp on the Greenbrier River, you can be the one that got away. This modest two bedroom, one bath home is in a prime location to facilitate all of West Virginia's outdoor recreational opportunities. From the camp, you can drop a line in the water, swim with the kids, kayak with friends, or read a book in the hammock. It's only minutes from the southern gateway to the New River Gorge and about 40 minutes to Winterplace Ski Resort. Close to everything but away from it all!

Skoolie New River Gorge - Big Blue

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. West Virginia really is “almost heaven”. The Schoolies are located just a few miles from the New River Gorge National Park. The buses are located conveniently off a well maintained gravel road and face beautiful rolling hills with hay and wildflowers in season. Deer frequent the pastures along with a family of foxes and Phil, the groundhog who has chosen it as his home. There are two schoolies if you have more people and need more space.

Despite being in nature, you'll have access to a hot shower, a toilet, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker.

The Cabin is located nearby the beautiful Greenbrier River in Summers County, WV in a quiet out of the way setting. Come sit by the fire pit (firewood available) and enjoy the peace and quiet.
