It's self contained, has a private entrance and patio area with parking. Tastefully converted from outbuildings next to our farmhouse. The sunny outside patio area enjoys big views over the valley. The Mistle is a gorgeous, quaint cottage (sleeps 4) at the far end of a historic barn. Located in the friendly village of Brockholes near Holmfirth, accessible by train, it's perfect families and friends looking for a base for a short break. It's also a great base for working. Recently renovated, you'll find it attractive, cosy and well-equipped. The cottage sits across a cobbled courtyard from our house so we're here to help. Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather.

Upside down stone Bothy on Marsden Moor

Long Fall Bothy is a gorgeous stone building on the outskirts of Marsden village in West Yorkshire. Perfect for a walking holiday, the Kirklees Way passes the property and the Pennine Way, Oldham Way are close by. A great place for mountain biking with the Transpennine Trail a few miles away and lots of cycle paths/trails on your doorstep. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

Our simple wooden cabin has solar powered lighting and a south facing deck to enjoy the panoramic views. It is well insulated and sheltered by surrounding trees. There are footpaths and bike trails from the door. Zapato microbrewery is ten minutes walk away. The new off grid utility shed was completed in Dec 2025. It is next to the cabin. It includes a basic kitchen area, camping fridge and a small bathroom with a composting (waterless) toilet, sink and shower. Like camping without the tent!
