The backyard boasts a large covered porch with grill, a beautiful pergola with individual swings, and a large covered dock with boat slip as well as covered and uncovered seating areas. The Great Escape is situated in a quiet, private neighborhood and is perfect for a guys' fishing trip, a girls' get together, or any getaway you choose!

The property is secluded. Walk down the long driveway to the oak tree with a swing. View the cattle from the fences. Come see the stars!!!

Relax at our peaceful cottage which includes a wooded country setting with a fire pit, wooden deck, & horseshoes. Located on the Dogwood Trails, you can also see the trees full of their white blossoms each spring in the month of March. Visit nearby wineries, Mineola Nature Preserve, Tyler State Park & of course, Lake Fork! Enjoy plenty of antique shopping, boutiques, & live music venues, too! *Due to how Airbnb collects fees, the more nights you book, the cheaper the nightly rate will be.

Sit on the deck with your coffee or tea overlooking a peaceful private lake. 15 minutes to Lake Fork if you fancy fishing on one of the premier bass lakes in Texas; 30 minutes to First Monday Trade Days in Canton; about two hours east of Dallas; 45 minutes north of Tyler. And you'll find quaint antique shops and good food in Mineola, just up the road.

A Little Countryside Paradise

Maybe I'm a little partial, but I really have to pinch myself when I go visit Callie's cottage. Imagine...a beautiful country road, quiet except for the occasional sound of a cow. A cottage tucked into an abundance of trees, wrap around porch, flagstone firepit area, patio lights strung across the yard, antique mantle with gas fire, crystal chandelier, beadboard from an 1800's farmhouse, a tub big enough for two, the lushest bedding, classical music plays, sweets served. Deep sigh.

My place is 6 miles east of Mineola, TX. Close to antique shopping, Mineola nature preserve, public lakes, 30 minutes to Canton First Monday trades days, and many other spotlights in East Texas. You’ll love my place because of the cozy, farmhouse atmosphere and country living. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Not suitable for kids or children, and I do not allow pets or animals of any kind on the property.
