Now it exudes character, warmth & rural charm with it's thick walls, cottage windows & wood burning stove. Situated in a quiet corner of a working farm yard, the accommodation boasts a Super King bed, luxurious shower room & Wifi, among vintage furnishings. Nestled among the drumlins of Strangford Lough, 1 mile from the charming village of Greyabbey.

"Ella's Cottage"

Ellas's cottage was built in 2001 for my late mother and was later home to my in-laws. Located in the picturesque fishing village of Portavogie, the cottage is a five-minute walk to beautiful sandy beaches and views to Scotland and the Isle of Man. Award winning Fish restaurant the Quays is located in the village with a fuel station and convenience stores located nearby. A short drive will take you to the Links Golf Course at Kirkiston Castle. further leading you to St Patrick's trail.

The Little Birdhouse

Graded 5 Star by Tourism NI, our tiny cottage dates from the 1700s. Its name is both a nod to Bird Island on Strangford Lough and a reflection of our aim to create a cosy nest in which guests feel snug, comfy and relaxed. The cottage has recently been renovated but retains its historic charm. The furnishings are a mix of antique, vintage and second-hand finds that come together to create a cosy, relaxed, eclectic vibe that's stylish and reflects our commitment to recycle and re-use.

Harbour haven

Portavogie (from Irish Bhogaigh ‘harbour of the bog’) is the easternmost settlement in Ireland. The village houses a working harbour with a large fishing fleet with fresh fish sold every morning and local seals, awaiting their catch. The sandy beach is just a 2 minute walk away, An award winning seafood restaurant just minutes walk away, famous worldwide for its prawns and herring. Boasting sandy beaches and tourist attractions alike, all just a stones throw away, from Belfast.

Bird Island Bothy

Wake with the rising sun, shrill calls of the wading birds, and waves breaking on the shore only meters away. The wild shore and vegetation provide a great habitat for birds, mammals, insects and spiders typical of the Irish coast. Wading birds can be seen feeding along the undisturbed shore. Bird Island Bothy has the feel of a sailing ship's cabin with chunky wooden beams, mock four-poster bed and plush velvet curtains. A great base from which to explore the Ards Peninsula.

Only 5 minutes walk is the village of Kircubbin, where there are pubs, restaurants and a supermarket. With the water so close, wake up to the sounds, views & smell of the sea.

Take a break and unwind at our peaceful country cottage, with great views of the countryside, relax in the hot tub, maybe enjoy the sunset from the tub! we are Chris and Hannah, the owners of the Gate House and look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing rural break. Historic Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage. #1

Sitting on the shores of the Irish Sea, Keeper’s Cottage provides a comfortable base from which to walk, beachcomb, birdwatch and explore. Close to the villages of Portaferry, Cloughey and Strangford, the area is rich in wildlife and heritage. Or just relax by the fire and soak up the magic of this unique place. Our other cottage, which is immediately adjacent, sleeps 4 and people often rent the two properties together for larger groups.
