Built in 1910, this renovated home gives the feeling of years gone by in a new way. The Smith House, once home to a treasured family of 12, is rich in history & heart. Bring your whole family to a place with lots of room for fun & laughter. Walking distance to city park, ball diamonds (.2 mi), swimming pool (.4 mi), convenience store (2 blk), golf course (.5 mi), and Auble‘s pond. Large porch to enjoy small town evenings on main street. Welcome to "The Pepper Shed" named after our black lab. This is a unique utility shed with built-in living quarters located next to our family home located along the Cedar River. Beds are located in open loft upstairs and bathroom is located on the ground level. While staying, feel free to make yourself at home with private access to a patio, dog kennel, walk out balcony with full accommodations of Wi-Fi, TV with Roku, washer and dryer, outdoor grill and full kitchen.

The Little House on the Prairie is nestled in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise! Bald eagles, prairie chickens, and a plethora of other species to observe will be waiting out your window. Star-gazers will find our night skies free of light pollution. Nature awaits!

Find peace and solitude as you relax and unwind in our quiet neighborhood. Our cottage has all new flooring, new furniture, and appliances, with a remodeled bathroom. The big front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee or an evening meal. A quiet street with a corn field to the south of the cabin and a grassy meadow on the other side. Just across the meadow is the Scotia Rec Hall with playground equipment.

Parking available in the driveway directly next to house by the front porch if you wish. Street parking is also available in front of the house. No Pets and No Smoking.
