The entrance to the famous Nga Tapuwai O Toi walking track is only 2 minutes from our home. If you are into astronomy, the Whakatane Observatory is steps away from our property, open to the public Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Surrounded by the bush, our unique cosy studio is a welcome retreat. Breakfast and good coffee is provided for our guests. Situated at the top of a hill with good views. We are within walking distance to the beautiful Nga Tapuwai o Toi walking track, 5 mins drive to Ohope beach and Whakatane town. Listen to the call of native birds, including Kiwi. Sit on the deck and watch the sun go down. This is a great place to unwind and relax.

The DogBox @ NZ’s favourite beach - Ohope Beach NZ

Our guesthouse is perfectly located at Ohope Beach between Ohiwa Harbour and the South Pacific Ocean - less that 1 minute walk to each. You can hear the ocean while lying in bed :) 'The DogBox' got its name when my dog Cooper (RIP) refused to come into our new house when we built it, preferring to sleep in the guesthouse.
