In un bosco privato di pini e lecci, canfore e corbezzoli, tra rosmarini e oleandri, una casa su tre livelli indipendenti, progettata e costruita negli anni '60 dall'architetto Luisa Castiglioni secondo canoni modernisti, si apre alla vista sulla foce del fiume Magra e sulle Alpi Apuane imbiancate dal marmo. La casa è raggiungibile solo a piedi: si parcheggia nell'area interna alla proprietà, vicino all'orto e, attraverso un centinaio di gradini tra gli alberi, si raggiunge l'abitazione.

Il paese si trova all'interno del Parco Regionale Montemarcello-Magra e fa parte del circuito dei Borghi più belli d'Italia. In zona mansardata una seconda camera con letto alla francese.
