The sanctuary is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom guest house with a full kitchen and bathroom. We are located within a 5 minute drive to the beach, and 30 minutes away from Redwood State and National Parks. Perfect launch location for hiking, surfing, cycling and enjoying this amazing place. Enjoy our beautiful quiet space for relaxation and renewal. The space is shoe and scent free.

This tiny house awaits you at the end of a gravel road, on a half acre of open yard and sky. Watch birds fly over and listen to the ocean. You are 1.8 mi. by bike to the beach, 2 blocks to the banks of the Mad River, and Hammond Trail. Access your cozy sleeping loft up the ladder, cook in your well equipt kitchen, enjoy an on-demand shower inside, and a charming privy with a flush toilet outside. Charming in every way, this ocean view property invites you to spend mornings on the patio, days exploring the plethora of natural amenities that our area offers, and your evenings on our western-facing deck watching the sunset with a wine glass in hand. Extra clean, with an abundance of natural light, and a fully-equipped kitchen with everything that you would need for a short or a long-term stay. This unit in our duplex also contains a bonus room with a queen pullout bed that sleeps two.

Or hop on the Highway 1/3 mile away. 3.5 miles to Airport, 30 to Redwood National & State Parks. We’ll share walls so you’ll sometimes hear me, though I try to be a considerate neighbor. Your comfort is very important to me!

We are 5 minutes to shopping and dinning and another five to the fabulous Moonstone Beach.

Redwoods & Hammond Trail Retreat

Perfect for two guests and a dog, this private one-bedroom home sits directly on the Hammond Trail in McKinleyville, CA. Walk or bike to the Mad River and ocean right from the property, with easy drives to beaches and redwood forests. Enjoy gated, secure parking, fully fenced yards, a comfy queen bed, sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen, plus an outdoor sauna and shower. Guests typically enjoy the garden and sunsets as well as the cleanliness and peace that the space exudes.
