At Hillside House we offer comfortable and peaceful accommodation just on the outskirts of the historic village of Ballinamuck County Longford. Our property boasts mature gardens, scenic views and lots of space for children and pets to explore. Our apartment has a fully functioning kitchen and living area. There is a traditional thatch roof pub just a 2 minute walk from our property which regularly hosts trad music. Ballinamuck holds a historic heritage whereby there is loads to see and do.

Just 4 miles from the magnificent Lough Rynn Castle, it's also a short 5 minute walk from a local pub and grocery store. Explore the bustling town of Carrick-on-Shannon (15 miles) or the closer Mohill (6 miles), which boasts a Centra, Butchers, pubs, and hairdressers. Knock and Dublin airports are also within easy reach (1 hour and 1 hour 45 minutes respectively).

Peacock House

The Peacock House is located within the Lismore Demesne. It was once the dairy and workers cottage. From the 1980s onwards it was used to house peacocks, giving the cottage its name. After being left dormant for 80 years it was lovingly restored three years ago. These days it is a bright and cozy cottage offering tranquil views of mature trees and park land.
