5 min from the city and 15 min from center we have just finished our house at a wonderful quiet location. The surroundings during summertime are birds forrest and berries. Lake very close by. During wintermonths we have the privilege of a private show of the world famous northern lights. Some bus drivers know about this spot and sometimes they bring their passengers to our neighbourhood to enjoy the show. In the master bedroom we have a big window in the roof to be able to watch and stay warm.

The Secret Cabin with hot tube in Nature Reserve

The location is exceptional, located hillside in a beautiful nature reserve, still very close to the downtown Reykjavik, 20 min drive. In winter Dec-March 4x4 car is essential in Iceland. No public transport. Enjoy the hot tube in the evening and watch for the Northern Lights, then rest inside and amid wood paneling that extends to the vaulted ceilings, and look out forest-wards from the deck. The International airport is 40-50 minutes drive. Ideal located for exploring the South West.

A grocery store is only a few minutes' walk away, and there are several restaurants nearby. The house features two balconies, and the area offers trails for walking, running, or biking. These trails connect you throughout the greater Reykjavik area and beyond. The house is my home, so many typical daily items in the kitchen and bathroom are available for your use.

Bus stations in the street (30 min trip to city center). Self check-in from 17pm of arrival date, key box by the front door, private entrance. Code to key box will be sent 48 hours prior to arrival. Sleeping arrangement is 1 queen bed, fitting two adults.
