Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Large deck with table, chairs and gas grill. Upper level game room with ping pong, darts, Wii video games, pinball. Fun for everyone!

Riverwood Hideaway

This OFF-GRID, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER and LIMITED ELECTRICITY. WE DO HAVE WI-FI. The kitchen has a propane refrigerator and gas oven/stove. Solar power is used for lights and some outlets. Propane fireplace / furnace for heat. The "bathroom" is an outhouse. You bring jugs of drinking water. Hand and dish wash water provided. We supply coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices and firewood.

Experience a rustic glamping adventure! Nestled on the border of Jay Cooke State Park(~15 min from Duluth), you will be surrounded by nature and wildlife, sheltered by the canvas ‘yurt’ and enjoy the night sky in a cozy bed. Located a short ~1/4 mile hike from your parking spot, there is a shared porta-potty (~150 yrds away, but NO running water or shower), a small solar powered battery providing lights/limited power. This rental is NOT heated. Guests supply necessary water for their stay.

Upon your arrival to Buffalo Valley you will receive a warm welcome with an escort to your house by the host, in the beautiful north woods. At check in you will receive a key to the cabin. (Please note that the house capacity is 6 guests, no exceptions. We also have a NO pet policy.) There is a guide book that gives you all the information you will need. You will love how remote you are, yet so close to town. Enjoy the fire pit and sauna in the comforts of the wilderness!
