Watch the surrounding wildlife by the log burner or gather by the fire pit. Head ito Exmoor or Dartmoor & enjoy the many walks/bike rides; surf or explore the beaches. ‘Fern Lodge’ is one of four lodges situated on the idyllic 5.5 acre site of 'Venn Lakes', Winkleigh. Whether staying for a romantic couple's retreat, or to fish straight from your lodge, guests will enjoy sinking into the warmth of the hot tub and gazing up at the stars, benefiting from being in a Dark Sky area. Watch the flames dance in the fire pit as you toast marshmallows, or sit, glass in hand, sausages sizzling on the barbecue as you look out over the lake and its abundance of wildlife.

Come and enjoy a rural retreat in our newly converted barn with unrivalled views over Exmoor and a cosy chic interior. Situated privately within a working farm, relax on the spacious patio, secluded garden or in the luxury hot tub. Each bedroom has a spacious ensuite with stand alone bath and walk-in shower. Underfloor heating and a cosy wood-burner. There is an EV charger at the barn. Beaches and moorland all within a half hour drive. Being within a working farm, sadly we cannot allow dogs.

A perfect place to relax and unwind while enjoying the stunning views across the surrounding fields.

The Barn, West Ford Farm

The Barn is part of an historic farmstead. It was built from cob and stone in the 18th century and sits in a peaceful valley, a lovely place to get away from it all and enjoy the glorious Devon country side. It is on the edge of Dartmoor and next to the Two Moors Way. The pretty village of Drewsteignton is a couple of miles away with it's pub The Drewe Arms. The National Trust's Castle Drogo is half a mile beyond that. The Drogo Estate has beautiful walks along the River Teign

Idyllically located, near The Two Moors Way and Dartmoor. Ideal for an overnight stop between London and Cornwall. Large accommodation space, peaceful setting surrounded by lovely gardens. Great size bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bath/shower room. Large open plan living and kitchen area. Infants of less than two years old welcome, sharing their parents’ bedroom space. Dog friendly. NB. Not suitable for anyone with limited mobility due to two steps into bedroom.
