The Old School House is a listed building that’s brimming with history. This spacious, four-bedroom holiday home now features sumptuous furnishings and an 8-person hot tub overlooking the gardens. The house can accommodate up to eight adults comfortably, and is a firm favourite with hill walkers and mountain bikers because of its proximity to Galloway Forest Park

Cosy Galloway cottage - sleeps 5; beaches & walks

Burnside is a cosy, secluded bolthole and perfect base to explore old Galloway. Built in the 1850s, our family restored the bungalow in 1970 and we've been visiting since. The cottage sits in a tranquil valley, a mile from the sea. It'll be just you, the wildlife and the view, within easy reach of beaches, rocky coves, and hills. The house is in an enclosed half-acre site. It sleeps five in double, twin and single bedrooms. The kitchen/living room are open plan with log burning stove and WiFi.

Seaside home-from-home, tucked away at the back of the village, 7 minutes walk from the sea. (Longer on the way back uphill!) Netherthird is a stunning detached farmhouse set in a wonderfully elevated position, with the most glorious views of the surrounding Galloway Hills. Netherthird was fully renovated in 2020 and has been lovingly furnished to ensure a truly comfortable and welcome family retreat. There is an amazing barbecue hut, with charcoal barbecue and ample seating, perfect for enjoying with friends and a glass or two of wine. Relax in the large hot tub taking in the clear dark skies at night.

The Steading at Nabny, a peaceful country escape

The Steading is a beautiful two-bedroom cottage with a sitting room/fully equipped kitchen log stove, in a tranquil setting surrounded by beautiful countryside, a short drive from Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas. Fully equipped with linen, crockery, cutlery, and a washer/dryer/dishwasher. Two wet rooms/bathrooms, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. We welcome 1-2well-behaved dogs, but they must be on a lead whenever outside.

We are between 10/30 mins from 3 of the 7stanes cycling trails and 6 miles from several beaches or hills for walking. You are 5 mins drive away from the market town of Castle Douglas.
