The spacious loft is the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing or travelling. The private entrance means the space is completely your own to relax and enjoy a bit of TV or film, or find out more about the area and it's history The main room has a comfortable king size bed, TV and seating area. Our home is in the hamlet where Arthur Ransome, author of 'Swallows & Amazons' spent his childhood holidays. Today it still retains that old-world charm. We are a stone's throw from the lake, with woodlands & waterfalls on our doorstep. You can sit by a cosy fire or enjoy a walk/picnic by the lake on light evenings. Andrew and Ann welcome you to our beautiful Victorian age Bed and Breakfast, in the centre of Ambleside, The Lake District. We are situated in the centre of Ambleside, but off the main road. There are many fantastic restaurants and bars right on our doorstep as well as lots of the Lake Districts most scenic hiking trails. Only a 10 minute walk into town. Large room with king size bed, TV, workstation, armchairs and private bathroom on the first floor of my warm and artistic home. Close to pubs, shops and restaurants, railway station and arts cinema. You can use my garden, kitchen and dining areas. cooked breakfast is included. We have one private room which can sleep up to 2 people. This can be set up as either double or twin room, please request your preference on booking. There is WiFi in the room The kitchen and bathroom are shared. We also have laundry facilities. Pets welcome. Parking is available. Penrith is the ‘heart of the Lake District’ and a good place to start discovering this wonderful area. We are only minutes from M6 junction 40. We welcome cyclists and walkers. There is a secure hallway for cycles.

The bedroom is on the ground floor with an ensuite private shower room. We are close to the hospital, ideal if need somewhere to stay if you are working there for a week or two. Breakfast is provided for you in the utility room, you are welcome to use our dining room.
