Mashes Sands, Alligator Point, Saint Theresa, and several other world-famous beaches are just a short drive away. Hiking and biking trails through the unique natural beauty of the river and forest are within walking distance. The marine biology lab of Florida State University is just a few blocks away. While the white sandy beaches and emerald-green waters of the Gulf Coast alone are worth the trip, who wouldn’t want to try fishing and enjoy some of the best seafood in the country? Whether from the shore or on a charter boat, there are plenty of opportunities to catch and savor fresh seafood. Or take a river cruise on the Ochlocknee or Wakulla Rivers. Enjoy the convenience of Crawfordville's town center at the Pelican Cottage (Sister to the wheelchair friendly Oyster Cottage). Cute, cozy, and comfortable. St. Marks, Shell Point, and Panacea are just south, and St. George Island & Apalachicola are one hour west. Enjoy seasonal fruit from the orchard. If you love coffee like we do there are two coffee trailers only a few minutes away, as well as a sit down coffee shop.
