The Root Beer Adobe Hotel is an old-world experience nestled within a collection of folk art; primitive antique interiors complimented with high ceilings, concrete, brick, and saltillo floors, all bathed in natural desert light throughout. Historic Casita Latilla is located in the heart of Tucson's Barrio Viejo. This adobe casita is named for its interior ceiling made of Saguaro ribs, or "latillas" which were a building material of choice before wood and metal became more readily available with the arrival of the railroads in the 1880's. Notable for having one of the largest concentrations of 19th Century adobe structures in the country, Barrio Viejo is one of Tucson's most appealing and colorful neighborhoods.
