Our private home is located in a quiet community, backing to BLM land & the Fourmile Rec Area . We are a 10-min drive to town & close to many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, rafting, & fishing. Absolute peace and one with nature. No roads in sight from cabin, sans driveway. Direct access out the back door to a beautiful waterfall, hiking trails, and a 14er (Mt. Princeton). Unobstructed views of mountains and wildlife. Listen to the brook as it flows through property. In middle of wilderness, but close to amenities. Soothe your weary self in the Hot Springs brand private hot tub with lounger off back deck gazing at the billions of stars above. Firepit with seating (bring own firewood).

The Historic Ranch House

We have intentionally tried to preserve as much of the ranch house as possible while still updating the house to today’s standards. The most notable piece of history is the Monarch cook stove in the kitchen, the doorways and doors that are not as tall as today’s standards, the original wood floor in the master bedroom and original moulding around some of the doors. The house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with all the amenities from home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of ranch history!

Town Hut - Cozy haven on BVs mtn side, EV charging

We welcome you to stay in our guest house: A renewed log cabin on three acres at BV's western edge. This quiet, in-town location is a good base for Arkansas Valley activities. A few miles east of us is Cottonwood Pass with hot springs, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. Or, bike or walk a mile to the east for restaurants and shopping, the Arkansas River and Fourmile trail complex beyond. Note: There are many pet-friendly options nearby, but we do our best to provide an allergen-free studio for guests.

No fishing on property. Guests like to see our wild trout. There are many fishing spots nearby.

We built it in 2014 on 20-acres with a private drive, 900' of riverfront with a trail, superb privacy with great views; its only 3.5-miles from downtown Salida and 18-miles from Monarch. We have a big garden, and chickens and ducks (fresh eggs in season!), and we're frequented by visits from deer, great-horned owls, red-tailed hawks, and sometimes wild turkeys and elk!
