Authentic Wild Coast holiday at La Shaque

La Shaque is located in uMngazana, a quiet coastal village on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is a rustic holiday cottage that was hand built with the help of Wilson & Ivy (who work at the cottage daily) and other Xhosa locals. It's a truly unique place offering a rural beach holiday experience whether you enjoy angling, hiking coastal pathways, rockpool swimming, chilling on the deck or afternoon napping. Sleepy Hollow Cottage, Mngcibe

Sleepy Hollow is situated on the Wild Coast in a local Village called Mngcibe, 1.5km north of Mdumbi river. What started as just a rondavel on it's own, has been developed with a separate bathroom and a 3 double bedroom unit with a decking. This is a family built and run holiday home that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. It's quiet and set away from the stresses of normal life, so be prepared to switch off and relax on the decking with a beautiful view of our Wild Coast.

Situated inside the fenced-in Hole in the Wall resort grounds. Spectacular sea view! 80 meters to the beach. Communal swimming pool. Children's play area. Daily Dolphin and whale sightings in season. Pub and restaurant on site. There are four different beaches within a very easy walk from the cottage. Gillies are available outside the gate for a fishing outing to some top spots. Beach Haven Mazeppa Bay

Beach Haven Mazeppa Bay is a newly renovated, 6 bedroom home in the Transkei. The house is set next to a dune, covered with indigenous fauna and flora, shielding it from the wind. Although the house dose not host ocean views , visitors will have access to the beach which is only 150 meters away. Mazeppa bay is a great destination for families and friends and is a hot spot for fisherman and bird watchers.

Welcome to Hole in the Wall Cottage — a relaxed 5-bedroom coastal retreat with sweeping ocean views. Enjoy open-plan living, wide verandas, and barefoot comfort on the Wild Coast. Cook together in the fully equipped kitchen, or let Natalie spoil you with her delicious vetkoek and traditional Transkei bread. It’s cosy and comfortable, not fancy or five-star — just real, homely, and full of heart. 🌿

Mazeppa Sunrise Studio

The studio sleeps 2 guest and consists of a bedroom with 2 single beds, a bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette to cater for all your needs for a comfortable holiday. The unit has a patio with a braai and is located only 20m from the sea. Parking for 1 car. Sunrise Studio is adjacent to Mazeppa Sunrise House and can thus be incorporated to make one large unit to sleep 8 guests.

Blue Lagoon 4x4 Cottage

This property can only be accessed with a 2x4 with a difflock and high ground clearance or a 4x4. The Cottage has unobstructed views of the Umngazana Estuary and has back up power for lights, fridge and charging of cell phones and laptops. Come and enjoy the Transkei, sit on the covered veranda reading a book or go and swim in the estuary or ocean. Walking distance to the beach.
