The local area offers nice walks, National Trust properties and gardens, offering a perfect relaxing weekend or mid-week break. Clay pigeon shooting experiences available.

The Staffordshire Moorlands location feels blissfully remote. However, it’s less than 10 minutes away from Alton Towers, making it ideal for a family break away. 20 minutes from Foxtail Barns, too. This romantic retreat is set in the heart of the picturesque village of Butterton which overlooks the beautiful Manifold Valley in the Peak District. The lanes are lined with pretty sandstone cottages and an idyllic ford runs through the cobbled street below the cottage and a great country pub is round the corner. This cosy hideaway is an ideal couples escape featuring a stunning bedroom with vaulted beamed ceiling and luxury features throughout. It has a boutique hotel feel in rural heaven.

Sky View Lodge

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Introducing our brand new Sky View Lodge (completed June 2024). With plenty of space for 4 people to enjoy their stay on the peak of Staffordshire Moorlands surrounded by breath-taking views of the rolling hills that make the Peak District National Park, with fantastic walking and cycling routes in abundance. Once you step out of the lodge, the panoramic views of the surrounding areas offer some of the most beautiful sun rises and sunsets.

Waters Edge

Looking for a relaxing break, or need a place to stay for a wedding, this is the perfect getaway set in the stunning Cheshire countryside. Set within 16acres of grassland, with a great view out over the pond, Waters Edge has plenty of wildlife to spot. There is a lovely walk around the local sand quarry with a stop off at the Waggon & Horses and if you fancy something longer you can head up to the cloud or the roaches. You are a two minute drive to Sandhole Oak Barn and The Plough Inn.

The Barn at Oulton Smithy

The Woodland Watch

If you are looking to have a relaxing break away from life’s stresses then The Woodland Watch is perfect. The hut is warm and cosy with all modern amenities set on a working dairy farm. Unwind with the beautiful views and stunning sunsets whilst listening to the woodland wildlife. There are also many lovely walks in our area and good access to local shops. We also have a two bedroomed property called Rock End Retreat located at the same address if guests wish to bring a larger group.

A perfect place for a family get-away, in a peaceful village on the edge of the Peak District, with its rolling hills and stunning views nearby. It is a 3 story detached house with a private garden, located in a quiet, safe cul-de-sac. Very close to local amenities and a children's playground, it makes a convenient base for trips to Alton Towers, wedding venues and many beautiful locations. There is ample private parking for 3 cars or a camper van. No hen, stag or parties allowed.

The Annex

We are situated just outside the picturesque village of Bagnall. We are a 25 minute drive from Alton Towers, 20 minutes from the market town of Leek and 20 minutes from the Potteries. The annex is a self contained building standing next to our home. It has a fully equipped kitchen complete with a washing machine. We have a number of animals sharing our lives, most of whom are very happy to welcome visitors.

Dolly’s Hut 1

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Dolly’s hut is luxury in the countryside with a wood fired hot tub and log burner. Dolly is our highland cow on the farm that you may get chance to see during your stay. The stunning views are sure to make your stay relaxing and memorable. Dolly’s hut is unique as it has a connecting bridge from the hut to the outdoor seating area.
