Charming Thatched Cottage Retreat

6 The Green is an exceptional Grade II listed, 17th-century thatched cottage, beautifully and imaginatively extended over recent months. Overlooking the picturesque village green, the cottage blends period character with contemporary luxury. Designed for 1–4 guests, this elegant countryside escape provides a serene haven, while remaining conveniently close to Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Thetford, Cambridge and Newmarket, with easy access to the M11 and A14. Perfect for a relaxing rural getaway.

The Cabin

Our cabin is a very cosy place to stay with en-suite facilities, double bed, satelite TV, microwave and tea and coffee. Situated in the grounds of Manor Cottage, which is one of the few original remaining buildings of the Manor built in the late 16th century. There is a downhill gravel driveway and onsite parking, Center of Mildenhall town, surrounded by bars, restaurants and nature walks. Some breakfast items included. This cabin is idealy suited for one person, but also equiped for two.

Our Cabin offers a cosy independent stay with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, bedroom with super-king bed, luxury en-suite shower and utility with additional toilet. This eco friendly home has air sourced underfloor heating throughout and contains many upcycled items from the exterior reclaimed scaffolding boards to the many repurposed gems to be found inside. Stepping outside there is a private south facing patio and garden with its own parking space, all just a leisurely walk from town.

Postal Lodge - our one-off wooden shack…

This is our wooden shack, hidden away in our little corner of Norfolk. Stay here and share some of the country idyll that we love. This is a peaceful, remote position, and we treasure the space, nature and peace we’re surrounded by - and hope you will too. The Shack has been built, fitted and furnished using up-cycled, re-cycled, reclaimed, new, old, vintage, shabby, retro, re-purposed or anything different or quirky. We’re constantly adding to it. No telly. Limited WiFi. Time out, guaranteed.

The Byre at Cold Christmas
