The cottage stands alone on a beautiful sightseeing platform with views of Tungufljót river and mountains all around. With stunning cliffs around back. Also perfect as writers retreat - for academics and others. Close to various tourist attractions, horse-shows at Friðheimar, Fontana, Secret lagoon at Flúðir, Brúarfoss, and river rafting in Hvítá. Perfect for Northern light watching in the Jacuzzi and convenient for further south coast exploring and sightseeing.

Secret Cabin Hvítárdalur

Perfect stay for exploring south Iceland and enjoy nature and the northern lights in winter. Beautiful cabin by the river Hvítá in a prime location in the Golden Circle. Near Gullfoss and Geysir and only 100 km to the capital city Reykjavík. The cabin can accommodate 2-4 persons. One bedroom with beds for two people. In the living room there is a pull-out sofa for two persons. The kitchen is fully stocked. The bathroom has a shower and the laundry room has a washing machine and a dryer.

The comfortable 90 sqm house with its own guest house accommodates six people. Relax in your own holiday home and discover the south of Iceland on interesting day trips, because the south of the country has many of the most important sights such as waterfalls, black beaches and last but not least the famous geysers!

Our newly renovated cottage is in the centre of the golden circle overlooking the Tungufljót river. There are spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers from the house. The house is a perfect base from which to explore the fantastic sights the golden circle and the surrounding area has to offer. All the main attractions such as Geysir (less than 10 mins drive), Gullfoss (under 20 min) and Thingvellir (about 40 min) are easy to get to from the cottage.

This getaway is very unique and secluded. It has spectacular panorama mountain view over two of Iceland's most famous volcanos and fantastic northern lights sightings.
