The Sanders Store

The Sanders Store, formerly known to Bloomington natives as Hays Grocery, is a landmark on Fairfax Road. Originally erected in 1913, the Sanders Store operated as a grocery for the Sanders community until 1967. The space was vacant and largely used for storage until 2019 when it was obtained, historically designated, fortified and reimagined into a deluxe vacation rental that sleeps 7! Six miles from downtown Bloomington and the Fairfax Marina at Lake Monroe. Great for IU events or boating!

Barn stay @ Goose Creek Chalet

This unique barn/log cabin was constructed by a creative craftsman Tom Kirkman. This home has been published in a book " From White House to Amish." The property has two separate lofts. The south loft has a master bedroom with French doors leading to a soaker tub and shower. The north side loft has two bedrooms with queen size beds and one bedroom with two full size beds. The main floor has 30' cathedral ceilings, freestanding fireplace suspended on chains, 16' dining table, custom kitchen.

Come to beautiful southern Indiana and stay in our rustic cabin with all the comforts of home. Overlooks White River, close to Bedford, Bloomington, near Spring Mill Park & Bluespring Caverns. There is hiking nearby at Hoosier NF and Milwaukee Trail. Great home base if you are going to IU football game, French Lick or just want to get away for a relaxing weekend. Lots of golfing near by. Limestone bluff overlooks the White River 125 ft. below cabin porch. There is a patio plus a fire pit.

The Historic Hamer House

Welcome to The Hamer House of The Avoca Park & Recreation of Marshall Township! This park is located approximately 20 miles south of Bloomington, Indiana. The Hamer House is a 2,600+ total sq ft historic house built in 1823 and over the years has been used as a post office, general store, and inn. This 200 year old home will allow families and friends to come together, enjoy walks on the hiking trails, catch and release fishing, play on the playground and enjoy the scenery of the Avoca Park.

We are located 20 minutes form Salem, 20 minutes from Paoli and Paoli Peak, and 35 minutes from Frenchlick Casino The kitchenette includes mini fridge, microwave, double hot plate and, grill on the outdoor firepit or grill. Boats are NOT available for guests at this time
