Surely the highest cottage, at 1200m altitude, in the Cederberg with spectacular views of the Koue Bokkeveld and the Cederberg. It is set against a mountain peak surrounded by pristine Cape flora. A place of retreat and deep silence. The cottage, with its beautiful woodwork and stonework, belongs to another era. The cottage is recently renovated and provides 2 lovely bedrooms and a modern bathroom with bathtub and shower cabin. A glass front sliding door gives direct access from the sitting room to a spacy veranda with a beautiful view over the lake, islands and peninsula. The kitchen building next door faces the lake and is fully equipped. Breakfast, lunch or dinner can be taken on another veranda next to the kitchen. It has the most stunning view over the lake and some of its beautiful islands.

Heidi's Barn, Franschhoek

Situated on a small holding 5km outside Franschhoek, opposite the exquisite La Motte Wine Estate, Heidi’s Barn offers the perfect self-catering base from which to explore the Winelands. A fire pit, outdoor dining area and a large swimming pool (shared with one other cottage) are perfect for summertime relaxation while an indoor wood-burning fireplace and wooden floors throughout make for a cosy winter escape. The barn runs on mains power with solar back up for load shedding.
