Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve (also called La Cordillera Nature Reserve) is made up of 10 islands that can be reached by boat from Las Croabas. Visitors to the reserve can view the islands’ natural wonders both on land and in the water. The islands are surrounded by clear blue waters and coral reefs that teem with a variety of marine life, including turtles that return to the reserve’s sandy beaches each year to lay eggs. The historic Faro de Las Cabezas de San Juan lighthouse that was first lit in 1882 is also located within the reserve.
